The Grateful Nation Award, established in 2003, is presented annually to six young heroes recognized for having distinguished themselves through superior conduct in the War on Terrorism. Honorees are chosen by their respective service and come from the enlisted, noncommissioned officer and junior officer ranks. Honorees represent each of the five branches of the U.S. military and the U.S. Special Operations Command.

Dr. Bruce Hoffman Addressed the JINSA Policy Forum on March 2, 2010. He discussed the changing nature of the terror threat with particular emphasis on Al Qaeda and its offshoots. The JINSA Policy Forum features policy experts to provide information about the importance of an effective U.S. defense capability and a robust national security policy in safeguarding vital American interests.

On November 19, a JINSA delegation visited U.S. Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, the east coast homeport of the U.S. Navy's nuclear-powered Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines. The boats, also known as Trident submarines for the 24 nuclear-tipped Trident ballistic missiles they carry, form one third of America's nuclear deterrent arsenal along with the Air Force’s air- and ground-based missiles.
