It isn't exactly Iran's Bushehr reactor that is making people nervous this week, and it isn't exactly the Russians. It is the understanding that no matter what the United States and the West say about Iran with nuclear technology, Iran is moving toward the acquisition of nuclear weapons technology and capability - and moving on the path toward the creation of actual nuclear weapons. That is coupled with the possibility that Russia will next deliver the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system to Iran, providing a serious new level of protection for the regime and its illegal uranium enrichment program.

The stream of violence has left more than fifty dead, mostly young protestors. Shoshana Bryen, senior policy director at the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, Washington, said, "Emphasis on the requirement that Israel 'take tough decisions' implies that Israel has the key to peace, not its enemies. Israel plans to urge the U.S. and other countries arming the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) to stop doing so, following a deadly border skirmish Tuesday. The PLO flag is flying in Washington. The administration downplayed the change – it is a "delegation" office, not an Embassy. The change implies "no enhancement in diplomatic status," and does not provide "any diplomatic privileges or immunities," said State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley. It is about the same as the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) that represents 27 million democratic Taiwanese. That is, by its nature, an enhancement for a terrorist organization.

Stephen Walt is an embarrassment to Harvard University. The issue is not what he says — free speech is paramount — but rather intellectual sloppiness. In Foreign Policy, he argues that "neocons" turned on Turkey in 2008 because of Israel. But trolling the Internet for like-minded pieces is not fact-checking.
