On September 22nd, more than 450 JINSA leaders, members and supporters gathered to pay tribute to Harris County Judge Ed Emmett who was honored with JINSA’s Houston Leadership Award. Lieutenant General David Fridovich, USA, Deputy Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) delivered the keynote address.
On July 14, Gen. Paul Hester, USAF (ret.) and Major General Larry Taylor, USMCR (ret.) discussed the future of American defense before the JINSA Dallas Cabinet. Prior to the event, they were interviewed on the "Wall Street Shuffle with Dan Cofall and Dan Stewart" radio show carried live to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area on CNN Radio 1190 AM.
Raheel Raza, the Pakistani-born award-winning author of Their Jihad…Not My Jihad, spoke to JINSA audiences in Houston, Dallas and Westchester County, New York in early May. A tireless campaigner for human rights, Ms. Raza actively promotes interfaith relations and appears frequently in print, radio and television media to discuss Muslim issues.
Colonel Richard Kemp, CBE (ret.), former commander of British Forces in Afghanistan in 2003 spoke in April to JINSA leaders in Houston at a reception hosted by former JINSA President Ted Dinerstein.
A record-breaking crowd of more than 750 guests gathered on April 10 to honor leading Houstonian Jeff Love with JINSA's Houston Leadership Award. Vice Admiral Joseph Maguire, U.S.N, Deputy Director for Strategic Operational Planning at the National Counterterrorism Center (NCTC) presented the keynote address. Prior to his current position at the NCTC, Adm. Maguire, a Navy SEAL, served as commander of Naval Special Warfare.
