Defense Cutbacks and American Security Priorities Discussed at Dallas Cabinet

On July 14, Gen. Paul Hester, USAF (ret.) and Major General Larry Taylor, USMCR (ret.) discussed the future of American defense before the JINSA Dallas Cabinet. The event, hosted by Shula and Aharon Netzer at their home, was well attended.

Gen. Hester is a former Air Component Commander for the U.S. Pacific Command. He participated in JINSA’s 2010 trip to Israel for General and Flag Officers. Gen. Taylor, a member of JINSA’s Board of Advisors, last served as Deputy Commander, Marine Forces Reserve.

The two officers discussed the anticipated effects of expected large defense budget cuts, American national defense priorities, the ongoing fight against global terrorist organizations, securing America’s borders and the U.S.-Israel relationship.

Prior to the event, they were interviewed on the “Wall Street Shuffle with Dan Cofall and Dan Stewart” radio show carried live to the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area on CNN Radio 1190 AM.
