Dr. Uzi Rubin, "father" of Israel's Arrow Ballistic Missile Defense System, speaking at JINSA's Conference, BMD: Where We Are and Where We Need to Be in December.
The December 4 program led off with presentations on regional threat perceptions. Asia was discussed by Dr. James Mulvenon, the Deputy Director for Advanced Analysis at the Center for Intelligence Research & Analysis. Adm. Leon Edney, USN (ret.), a former NATO Supreme Allied Commander, Atlantic, addressed Europe. Dr. Anupam Srivastava, Director of the Asia Program at the University of Georgia's Center for International Trade & Security, discussed India. The Middle East was analyzed by Michael Eisenstadt, the Director of the Military & Security Studies Program at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy.
Dr. Uzi Rubin, the "father" of Israel's Arrow Ballistic Missile Defense System was joined by the Heritage Foundation's F.M. Kirby National Security Policy Research Fellow Dr. Baker Spring, the American Foreign Policy Council's Vice President for Policy Ilan Berman, National Defense University Foundation's Senior Defense Associate Peter Huessy and Jeffrey Kueter, the President of the George C. Marshall Institute, for panels on current BMD capabilities and future BMD requirements.
The Israel Missile Defense Association and the Jerusalem Institute for Public Policy were co-sponsors of the event, which was attended by representatives of the defense industry and diplomatic community as well as JINSA members.
